Visualizing Research and Evaluation Results in, Yes, Excel
Have you ever emailed an evaluation report to a client and wondered whether they even read about the results? Have you tried sharing results during in-person meetings only to watch their eyes glaze over? If so, this workshop is for you.
A common misconception is that evaluators need to be computer programmers or graphic designers before diving into visualization. On the contrary, high-quality visualizations can be created in good ol’ Excel.
We’ll breeze through data visualization best practices and then dive into the fun stuff: creating advanced charts in Excel. Together we’ll design heat tables, bubble charts, diverging stacked bar charts, spark lines, dot plots, slope graphs, and small multiples and panel layouts, just to name a few. You’ll leave with the critical thinking skills and technical prowess needed to create visualizations faster and easier than you ever thought was possible.
This workshop is 25% lecture and 75% hands-on practice. Bring your laptops, power cords, and enthusiasm!
