Grounded in peer reviewed research and best practices, two of evaluation’s leading data visualization experts will share a new checklist to guide the construction of graphs for evaluators. This session will explain the anatomy of a strong visualization and then walk through real examples of evaluation graphs that do and do not meet the guidelines set forth in the checklist. Attendees will leave the session with a clear understanding of the elements that create effective data visualizations, within accessible software programs, and with the reliable backing of both research and practice. The checklist is a development of thumbsupviz.com, a collaborative multidisciplinary data visualization project.
